I’m Isabel, the lead designer and owner of A Lily Among Thorns.
Like many floral designers, my creative journey began elsewhere. Poetry originally kept my mind and heart busy, but as a creative, after a decade of dedication to literature, I needed more to explore.
Drawn to movement, color, and still life paintings, I found my medium in floral design.
Influenced by Impressionist artist, my work reflects a painterly approach: layered, intentional, and rich with texture and tonal depth. I design the way they painted landscapes, capturing feeling over precision and the beauty of what is real rather than what is forced into perfection.
My signature style embraces natural form, elevated composition, and a nuanced palette that feels timeless, modern, and evocative.
In the last few years, A Lily Among Thorns has grown into a floral studio for those who want florals that feel like art.
